The effects of NKCP on metabolic disorders were investigated.
In this small scale open-label study, 13 subjects (5 men, 8 women, mean age 47.7 years) with metabolic disorders were administered NKCP 250 mg/day for 12 weeks. Total cholesterol (TC), HDL cholesterol, LDL cholesterol, triglyceride (TG), fibrinogen (Fbg), HbA1c, hs-CRP, and body weight were measured before and after the test period.
As a result, TC, LDL cholesterol, and TG were significantly reduced, suggesting that NKCP has a lipid metabolism improving effect. In addition, a significant decrease in HbA1c was observed, suggesting that NKCP may be effective against diabetes and pre-diabetes. In addition, a significant decrease in hs-CRP was also observed, indicating that NKCP has anti-inflammatory effects. Furthermore, it was shown that body weight was significantly reduced, and that it may have a weight-reducing effect.
These results suggest that NKCP is effective on improving lipid metabolism, anti-diabetic, anti-inflammatory, and body weight reduction, and is expected to contribute to the improvement of metabolic disorders.
