New Research Publication: BioBran and Exosomes Target the Hypoxia Pathway in Breast Cancer

A new scientific paper on BioBran, titled “Synchronizing activity of Biobran/MGN-3 with exosomes: Therapeutic targeting of hypoxia pathway to inhibit angiogenesis and proliferation of breast invasive ductal carcinoma,” has been published by a research team led by Alaa E.M. Abdel-Mohsen and collaborators.

In this laboratory study, BioBran, particularly in combination with exosomes, was associated with significantly lower expression of hypoxia-related markers such as HIF-1α, VEGF, and Ang-2 under low-oxygen conditions, a common feature of the tumor microenvironment, and this was accompanied by decreased tumor cell viability and increased apoptosis compared with either treatment alone.
Although these findings are based on an in vitro experimental model, they suggest that BioBran and exosomes may act coordinately to suppress breast cancer cell proliferation and survival, while promoting apoptosis.
